英国国家剧院舞台巨制《战马》改编自英国童书桂冠作家迈克尔•莫波格同名小说，这部享誉全球、曾感动世界800万观众的传奇舞台剧作品由汤姆•莫里斯（《笑面人》）和玛丽安妮•艾略特（《深夜小狗离奇事件》《天使在美国》）联合指导，并力邀南非掌上乾坤木偶剧团用“会呼吸”的藤编马偶，再现这一段人与马穿越战火真情重逢的感人故事。

《战马》讲述了第一次世界大战爆发时，德文郡乡民们奔赴战场，陪伴少年阿尔伯特长大的小马乔伊也被军队征用，前往法国前线。为了找回心爱的战马，阿尔伯特谎报年龄参军入伍。在惨烈战火与颠沛流离中，支撑他们的信念就是有朝一日还能一同回到宁静的村庄。

舞台剧《战马》于2007年首登英国国家剧院时引起巨大反响，并于2011年登陆美国百老汇，随后在加拿大、澳大利亚、爱尔兰、德国、荷兰等多个国家和地区展开巡演。2015年，由中国国家话剧院和英国国家剧院联合制作，舞台剧《战马》推出中文版，并在北京、上海、广州、西安、哈尔滨等多个城市巡演。世界范围内，舞台剧《战马》已经获得包括英国奥利弗奖、美国托尼奖在内的24座戏剧大奖，可谓当代最具世界影响力的舞台剧作品之一。

“新现场”旨在通过放映的形式向观众呈现当今英国及世界舞台上最优秀的作品，由北京奥哲维文化传播有限公司独家负责其在大中华区的发行与推广，并获得英国文化教育协会鼎力支持。截止目前，运营来自英国国家剧院现场、来自埃文河畔斯特拉福德的莎剧现场、英国皇家歌剧院高清影像、环球映画、更多放映、俄罗斯高清舞台影像、百老汇高清、莫斯科大剧院、法兰西喜剧院等在内的多家知名世界戏剧影像录制品牌的150多部高清戏剧作品，放映覆盖北京、上海、广州、中国台湾台北、中国香港等37 地。
